Tuning the MB5

Being a restricted moped in the UK (and in other parts of Europe) the MB5 was limited to a 35mph top speed (and much slower up the hills!!) but always looked faster than it actually was. The American market got the true un-restricted MB5 plus decent 12 volt electrical system.

My own bike has the H100 conversion whilst my brothers is fitted with the 65cc big bore kit.

The "Project 60mph MB5" is taken from Motorcycle Mechanics magazine in 1982 when they attempted to fully de-restric an MB5. whilst it makes interesting reading I feel the first two options (h100 conversion & 65cc big bore kit) are easier (and probably cheaper)  to carry out and give substantial performance gains over standard.
